The Phoenix

A "modern" estate pub serving the former pit village of Gedling. It has become a mediocre pub serving a few regulars over recent years and nothing worth travelling for. But it has been updated and now looks much smarter outside and in.

Staunton Arms, Staunton

Another trip through work. A classic country pub with rooms. Lovely Harvest Pale and great food.
Smart rooms too.

Peacock

The last remaining pub in Nottingham offering table service in the lounge with a bell. A classic, quality, unspoilt pub serving a range of real ales. And it has an upstairs beer terrace to really escape. A cracking little find.

Riverside, Farndon

A really lovely gastro pub by the river.
Ideal for day boats from Gunthorpe. Awesome Sunday roast!

The Whitemoor

A former hotel, The Whitemoor still has a large, loyal group of regulars including a 5-a-side football team. We were made very welcome and many of the features from the original hotel are still here.
No real ale when we went.

The Newcastle Arms

The Newcastle Arms is an old Home Ales pub showing Sky Sports and serving lager. A few regulars were there when we went and it was OK but no real ale and very typical of modern chain pubs.

The Nuthall

The Nuthall is a quality gastro pub with great food, very smart decor and good beer.
Pleasantly surprised! Although very modern and not a classic old drinking pub this is still a pub to be proud of.
