Royal Oak, East Bridgford
A lovely village pub, popular with locals on a weekend. Castle Rock beer - the Harvest Pale was good.

Cooper’s Brook
Greene King’s revamp of the Old Spot includes a renaming. The former brewery tap of the now closed Home Brewery is a smart diners’ pub next to a Premier Inn.
Usual Greene King beers on tap plus local ale from Nottingham Brewery.

Overdraught
Totally Brewed’s tap this is a smart and contemporary pub in a former bank on Canning Circus. Jazz music playing. With trendy lamps and artwork, this is more the sort of place you’d expect in the city centre. A quality addition to the area.

Crafty Teller, Sherwood
This pub has seen several facelifts in recent years but this is surely the best. The decor, atmosphere, ambience, quality and service is all great. Sherwood really is enjoying a boom in quality places to eat and drink at the moment. Think trendy city centre bar with real ale. I had the Black Iris Snake Eyes and it was on top form.

The Free Man
Carlton's Wetherspoon pub. Typical busy Wethers pub with cracking ale at a good price.
This pub replaced the Toby Jug that was pulled down next door.

The Brickyard
Formerly a social club and before that a butcher's shop in Carlton. Now a Lincoln Green pub in the usual Lincoln Green style. Classic decor corner pub with some great local ales. I had the Daybrook Bitter which was fantastic. Small, intimate venue. Dog-friendly.
