Hole in the Wall

Traditional 1930's Whitbread pub. Now a rock pub serving 1 real ale (reasonable) when I went. Pool table. Feels like a regulars pub and a closed shop to rockers. This is the last remaining pub on North Sherwood Street with the Newcastle Arms, Saracen's Head, Sir Charles Napier all closed.

Update 4th Nov 2017. New owners. Now just a plain old backstreet pub with the feel of the 1960s about it, in a good way, as in you don't see many like this still open any more. Real ale although I didn't try it. Apparently this pub is council owned and has to be kept as a pub which is why it is still going, unlike the rest of the former pubs on North Sherwood St.
